Updated Kitchen for Entertaining and Everyday Family Needs

Upon meeting the homeowners it was obvious they were in need of a kitchen update. This Included opening up their kitchen to the dining room, which was being used as a play room, allowing them to cook in the kitchen while easily interacting with family members in that space. To do this, we moved their range and hood which also allowed us to vent their hood on an outside wall, getting rid of a bulky soffit. They also wanted an “everyday” eating area for the family, a place where their children could sit and eat inside the kitchen. The raised bar helped keep the newly refinished hardwood flooring intact as much as possible, while providing some much-needed quick snack space or another landing for entertaining. Outlets above the countertop provide a visual barrier to their family room and dining room, as well as having an “adult” bar area. All of these changes created great entertaining space for both the young and old for years to come.
