Every remodeling project comes with questions. Whether you’re exploring ideas, comparing options, or preparing to begin the design-build process, having clear information can make all the difference. We’ve gathered answers to some of the questions we hear most often from homeowners throughout Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill, and the surrounding Triangle communities to help you move forward with greater confidence and peace of mind.
How Do I Get Started?
Getting started begins with two of the most important parts of the home remodeling process: communication and collaboration. First, we encourage you to reach out to us on our contact page, or by phone (919) 971-5119. You can expect a prompt reply from us as we immediately begin to gather and share as much information as possible regarding your project. This initial contact will tell you more about our process and help us learn more about your needs. The next step will be an in-home consultation. This allows us to meet in person and discuss your project in more detail.
Is There A Fee For The Initial Consultation?
No, we do not charge any fee for a phone or in-home consultation.
What Is The Smallest Or Largest Project CQC Can Complete?
Scale is important when it comes to the home remodeling process. Having a team that executes projects of similar scope on a regular basis maximizes efficiency. We have two divisions that address projects relative to their scope and most projects fall within one of them. This expanded approach allows us to serve more clients.
Most projects we tackle start at $75,000+. Being a design-build firm, we handle full-scope renovations compared to a handy-man who would provide basic services such as cabinet or countertop replacements.
How Long Will My Project Take?
Home remodeling projects vary in size and scope which of course determines the timeline. At CQC Home we take scheduling seriously. We will present a detailed schedule for your project before a contract is signed and utilize project management software to maintain that schedule. This software is very interactive, and you will have access to your project’s activity from start to finish. While we do our best to set reasonable expectations and help you plan for contingencies, delays can still happen, and we are committed to communicating these things with you and working quickly to resolve them before they potentially impact your project timeline.
Will Someone Help Me With Product Selections?
We are committed to ensuring the best possible outcome for your project and our team of design professionals is available to help you through the product selection process. Once the layout of your project has been finalized, our designers will work closely with you to navigate this process until every item for your project has been selected. This includes cabinetry, tile, countertops, hardware, flooring, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, and anything else that relates to the project scope.
Do I Need To Worry About Getting Permits?
CQC Home always complies with all safety and building obligations, including permits and historical requirements. You do not have to worry about getting the permits, we take care of that for you as well.
Does CQC Home Offer A Warranty?
As covered in our contract, we offer a 2 year warranty on all of our workmanship so you can have peace of mind when working with us on your home remodeling project.
Does CQC Home Have A Showroom To Make Cabinetry, Countertop, Hardware & Tile Selections?
Yes, we do! Our remodeling showroom is located at 5102 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd. in Durham. We have a wide selection of countertop materials, tile, hardware and cabinetry for you to choose from. However, we also work closely with local tile, stone fabricators, lighting and plumbing fixture specialists to ensure our clients find exactly what they are looking for.
May I Purchase Items From The Showroom Even If I Don't Hire CQC As My Remodeler?
We are a cabinet distributor and are happy to facilitate cabinet purchases from our showroom. For everything else, we would have to refer you to our local supply houses.
Do You Provide Kitchen & Bath Cabinetry Design In Addition To The Floor Plan Layout?
Yes, we do! We use multiple software packages (AutoCAD, Chief Architect and 20/20) for 2D and 3D cabinetry design, and ordering of materials. Our Design Team will go through each cabinet and drawer, helping to select inserts and dividers for organization and maximum utilization of the cabinetry.
Will CQC Home Move Furniture?
We would recommend that you hire professionals to move your furniture, but if there is something small that you need us to take care of, we would certainly do so.
How Will CQC Manage Dust & Air Particles While My Project Is In Progress?
Our priority is your safety and the protection of your home and belongings. Before we do anything else, we install protective coverings guaranteeing multiple levels of protection to the areas of your home impacted by your project. We also use HIPPA filtration systems to keep your home as clean as possible. We manage this protection for the duration of the job keeping your home damage and dust free.
Will We Have To Temporarily Move Out Of Our Home While The Project Is In Progress?
Depending on the scope of the project, sometimes moving out of the home temporarily is the best option. However, other times staying is not a problem at all. We can setup a temporary kitchen or make accommodations where we can to help keep your daily life moving along at its normal pace.
Is CQC Home's Team Experienced And/Or Certified?
Absolutely! Our team has a combined 40+ years of experience in the residential architecture field. We have a NKBA certified designer on staff who is also the Communications Chair for the Eastern Carolinas Chapter. We are constantly reading and educating ourselves on current design trends, as well as attending local and national trade shows.
