Open Concept Kitchen to Living Room Remodel

Buying a home is a tough process. As we all know, so many different items play a role in the ultimate decision to purchase a home. Nothing more so than location. We often here, “I can change the kitchen or bathrooms if I need to, but I can’t change how close my neighbors are or how far the drive to work is going to be”. Truer words couldn’t have been spoken. This homeowner’s ideal home was nestled away from the busy roads and tucked away for a more private setting – ideal for outdoor entertaining with friends and family. One problem – the kitchen! It lacked the open concept feel that their lifestyle really needed.

The original home was tight, closed in, and not ideal for this beautiful outdoor living space the new homeowner’s had just completed. Upon coming up to the side door of the home was right into the sun room, which lead into the eat-in kitchen & dining area. But, not well lit and had an awkward wall placement. We were able to take down the wall separating the spaces and really giving us the open concept kitchen to living room the homeowner’s were desiring. We added a wall of windows with a triple slider door to the deck. This let is a lot of natural light in and really connected the exterior living space. Perfect for hosting dinner parties.

We used stock-line cabinets and a level 1 granite to keep us within budget. This allowed for us to splurge on the good stuff with a large triple slider door, hardwood floors, vaulted ceiling work, and a custom backsplash.
