Modern Kitchen Update with a Copper Flair

Like most brick ranch homes in the South, this kitchen was cut off from the rest of the house. The homeowners had trouble sharing the space when prepping and cooking for meals. Having company over for entertaining, was a bit of a juggling act to say the least. We wanted to bring it back to life and really give them a home they were excited to show off. One of the main ideas we had during our initial walk-through was to take down a wall and really open the space to the dining room.

This concept led us right into the new larger island and open floor plan. We took down not one, but two walls. The island served so many purposes we were looking for. We housed the plumbing in the island for a sink and dishwasher, it has premier seating for entertaining, as well as, lots of storage opportunities. Being a smaller space, this kitchen storage was a much needed addition. We were able to really collaborate with the homeowner’s style using hand selected backsplash tile and trendy copper lighting.
