North Hillsborough Kitchen Renovation with Vaulted Ceilings

Our clients wanted to renovate it to meet fit their style a bit better. The existing floor plan had an awkwardly placed fireplace right in the eat-in kitchen area with bulky built-ins. The existing layout just left them feeling cramped in, even though it was a large enough space. Our design team was able to collaborate together and come up with a solution. Taking down the existing fireplace in the dining space seemed most logical, in fact taking down the entire wall was going to be the best course of action.

Although, the vaulted ceilings now felt a bit cold. We softened the new look with rustic exposed beams. While on site, a quick decision to change from three beams to five was processed. Remodeling is a very fluid process, with lots of decisions to be made. While our process fine tunes a lot of those major decisions to final decisions, this was a change that was well worth it. The overall look of the space is beautiful and those extra exposed beams are very striking.

Also, included in the new layout, we used a large island with lot of storage. This new layout allows for additional seating, lots of room for family and guests when entertaining and the open beam-work really brings the two spaces together.
