Green with Kitchen Envy

After purchasing the home two years ago, the homeowners had enough of the green counters and stark white floors. Those floors showed every bit of dirt. Their lifestyle was getting ever busier, their needs were changing as their family was getting older and they needed more space. Working alongside the homeowner, our kitchen designer eliminated the existing peninsula layout and opted for a larger island with additional seating. While keeping the existing cabinetry and hardware, we reused and rebuilt a cabinet box to extend the island. Another obstacle was the placement of the refrigerator. It’s original location meant that there was a narrow opening to get in and out of the kitchen. By moving the fridge we gained a larger opening, great for entertaining and keeping enough space for everyone to pass through easily.
