From Broken to Farmhouse Master Bathroom Remodel

It doesn’t sound like water would be a problem in a shower, it’s a designated wet place after all. Right? Wrong. Water damage in a bathroom is a real threat and the bills to repair the damage. This homeowner came to us looking to repair a shower that had been leaking. They called the insurance company and to no avail were getting any closer to using their master bathroom any time soon… Given that the shower was going to be replaced, it seemed time to think about updating the rest of the space as well. Our concerns were that we needed to update the bathroom, make it feel more spacious, but without blowing our entire budget. Isn’t that always the goal! Our inspiration was a functional farmhouse feel that the whole family could enjoy.

It was cramped, the shower bench was an odd height, even with a skylight still felt dark. Considering the entire family with young children were using this space. It was time for an update. We overcame these hurdles by maximizing storage installing new “Brooklyn” bright white vanity cabinets. Removing the walls that were separating the space, using frame-less shower glass instead, we were able to not only brighten the space, but also open this master bathroom to feel even larger.

We were able to incorporate the homeowner’s southern farmhouse style using a simple 3×6 subway pattern shower wall tile, a fun patterned floor tile, and embellishing with oil rubbed bronze fixture for an old farm feel.
