The Hills at Southpoint Basement Transformation

The Hills at Southpoint Basement Transformation

Typically when homeowners come to us, it is to solve a “problem” with their home. This was a bit of an unusual case. Their home was a spacious enough, it was in wonderful condition and decorated beautifully. But, the original builder had “roughed-in” the basement to be finished at a later date. Not only did this make the home feel incomplete, but it was missing valuable square footage that could be included for resale value later. We were hired to help with the basement transformation, making the basement feel as though it always belonged.

Our design team collaborated with the homeowners to break up the large single room into multiple working areas for this basement transformation. We considered moving walls around to help incorporate the supporting structural poles inside the walls. We created an artists’ workshop, as she loved being able to work with different materials it was important to have natural lighting in the room.

Creating a large guest bedroom, in addition, there was a shared full bathroom, complete with a tub/shower combo and extra linen closet for the guest’s personal effects. The basement was large enough to offer an office space. Keeping it tucked away helped to have distractions to a minimum. Our favorite space was the large bonus/game room. Creating the ideal hang out spot for any guest, with plans for game equipment and a large screen TV!
