Restored Farmhouse Renovation

AWARD-WINNING DESIGN

The homeowner, helped ensure that we kept the feel of the farmhouse; she asked for beautiful sight lines with cased openings and selected unique fixtures to tie spaces together. Another goal was to keep as much of the original walls and ceiling as possible while seamlessly blending in new features and rooms.

For example, the attic was completely unfinished and our crew built a staircase and dormer from scratch. With the same reclaimed heart pine hardwoods as the kitchen, the new attic was turned into a real showstopper. The new staircase was painstakingly crafted to match the existing one, down to the posts and end caps.

We kept the original brick fireplace separating living and dining rooms, but removed adjoining walls to create an open space. We were able to preserve much of the original floors, ceilings and walls in the bedrooms and even in the newly constructed closets. Overall, the house is an amazing reflection of a great partnership between builder and homeowner.
