Laundry Room Addition with Lots of Storage

Adding Value with a Laundry Room Addition

When planning on re-designing your home. Consider the floor plan, having a secondary first floor laundry room off the master is a huge advantage. It adds not only practical benefits for the entire family, but also makes the home more accessible for all ages. For this remodeling project, we were actually focusing on a new kitchen layout. We wanted to be sure that this new space was practical for years to come. The laundry room addition made this possible to be the “forever home”.

Within the new floor plan, we were able to include a large walk-in pantry closet, updating a powder bathroom, and adding a new laundry room area. A few critical elements that we wanted to include were proper lighting and to maximize the storage capacity. We used recessed LED can lights and we added lots of different opportunities for storage; using both open shelving and cabinetry.

The laundry room is so close to the kitchen, that it doubles for extra storage for the smaller kitchen appliances; like the crockpot and hand-held vacuum.
