Farmhouse Restored Top to Bottom

Durham, NC

Stunning renovation of an historic farmhouse

Once in a while a project comes along that captures your imagination. For this project, a previous client had us work on a 1920’s farmhouse that sits on 5 acres. The homeowner, Joy Knight, played an integral role in the design to bring the project to life. It was really important to her that we create a beautiful home, but keep the essence of an older farmhouse. To that end, we reused wood from old sheds and kept the original heart pine hardwood and original shiplap on the walls and ceilings, accented spaces with reclaimed wood from the property and used Joy’s unique selections of tile & fixtures. The result of a great partnership between builder and homeowner is an amazing home that is the talk of Durham.
