Downtown Loft Requiring a
Master Bathroom Shower Update
Master Bathroom Remodel
These new homeowners had “lofty” goals. They were embarking on not one, but two new design and build projects at the same time; a new kitchen & master bathroom update. The downtown condo was in a perfect location. They loved the loft feature, industrial concrete floors, and the open living concept. However, the shower had a potential leak and didn’t match their urban style. It was time for a shower update.
We started the design phase with only the kitchen project in mind. But, once the idea came to open the house to a demo phase, it seemed only logical to get all of the updating out of the way at one time. We were able to help save on cost by re-using the some the same specs from the existing bathroom. While the shower update was a must and would need to be completely gutted to the framing studs – we kept the main tile floor and the vanity light fixtures. While that doesn’t sound like a huge savings, it saved both time and money on demo and fishing new wires in the already tight walls.
With a new floating vanity, clean quartz counters, and a new shower update we were able to design the master bathroom that really fit their style. For the shower update we used larger tiles on the walls to make the space appear bigger and have fewer grout lines. This appealed to the modern flair that we were aiming for as well.
