A Better Master Bathroom Layout
Master Bathroom Layout Needs Fixing
The homeowner’s expressed that they were unhappy with their master bathroom layout. They needed help opening the space, while still maximizing the storage. As you can see from the “before” photo, half of the could-be shower area is being taken up by a linen closet. We were not surprised that one of their first requests during design phase was to nix the closet.

The Process
A few other design ideas we implemented for the new bathroom layout were to incorporate frame-less shower glass, lighter paint colors, and larger wall tiles. By eliminating the extra lines from the old-style shower frames and all the grout lines, it creates the illusion that the space is larger than it really is. We were able to solve some of the loss of storage with the linen closet, by adding extra storage using a counter cabinet and maximized it with cabinet accessories.
A great addition to the master bathroom layout was the new and improved shower. What was once a small “coffin” size shower was now large, open, and inviting. The natural light from the window was now able to pour into not only the vanity sink area, but also into the shower space. This combined with the lighter paint color “Crisp Linen” ties the space together really well. It’s more open, it’s brighter, and it has a better bathroom layout – what more could you want? The space turned out beautiful.
